The purpose of South Texas Atlatl is to foster interest in the atlatl and archaeology in general in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas and adjacent areas.

History:
 
South Texas Atlatl was created in the summer of 2008 and is based out of historic Roma, Texas. My experience with the atlatl began over a year ago after recieving my masters degree from the University of Texas Pan American and while preparing lesson plans for my first  archaeology program. Continued research has been done regarding this weapons system as well as increased experience in the field of archaeology. Currently employed as a cultural resource monitor by Archaeology Consultants, Inc.
 

Scholarships:

 

As Chair of the Texas Archeological Society (TAS) Diversity Scholarship SubCommittee, I would like to invite educators and students to participate in TAS activities which include archaeology field schools, academies, and annual meetings. Students recieve archaeological field school training and educators may also sign-up for professional development credit. Take advantage of available scholarships!
